I think you should write about your Renault LeCar!

It wasn’t Hers but a Canadian painter by the name of Alex Colville who lived in Wolfville Nova Scotia .The Car used to belong I believe to his wife also his life long muse. Definitive style and many of his works are from the Wolfville Area of the Annapolis Valley.

Painted at Evangeline beach where the Colvilles had their cottage.

My grandparents told us we weren’t allowed to bother Mr Colville.

My mum had one like that in the 70s when we were kids in New Brunswick. It was awesome Yes, Alex Coville paintings are sublime. I wish I owned one. I have this one laminated in a very 80s style from my college dorm.

You write like a very nice person, someone I'd be happy and proud to have as a neighbor in our nicest of places, Burlington Ontario. I'm afraid that might be why you're having difficulty. Image and reality are different.

NFB did a documentary many years ago about draft/military service resistance among the Mennonite Farmers (in Alberta), who don't risk gong to war for religious reasons, but were happy to take land seized from the 1st nations and make small fortunes selling wheat to fuel the armies. It was an eye opener and I started falling down all kind of rabbit holes, but it turns out reality is found down there, all this stuff up here is stage art for us to act out our lives while we fuel the economy.

Canada is now paying and building 20 icebreaker ships which will be Canadian flagged US Navy vessels, according to my neighbor who is in the Canadian Navy. Apparently Carney must have got his elbows up to push Trumps legs apart while asking Trump if he preferred to have his left testicle or right testicle tongue bath first. Canada is throwing money into Ukraine so it will recirculate into the USA MIC, and since much of USA's arms are actually make with the skilled labour of Canadians, back into the loving arms of our branch of the MIC and it's owners. Nuancing this is a key skill for government employment.

If all of this ends up, bringing money back to Canadians and reaffirming our relationship with the US regardless of who is the president, then you have just sent me the best news of the day. I’m hoping that this is true as we watch the stagecraft play out. Thanks for taking time to write. I grew up in Canada spent half my life there. I care deeply about the relationship between the US and Canada and I see the UK as a very important broker in the trio.

If you can pitch that vibe, then your half way there. Connections or strong elbow, plus very importantly some sort of kompromat that they can use to confirm adherence will get you the other half. Good luck.

Being a disillusioned Canadian expat in the USA is a sad feeling.

Not disillusioned at all. Hopeful people in Canada will thrive and curious about how we think about place. I am often ahead of the times in what I see.

I hope so because the culture of complacency is a massive problem in Canada
